Through W5 Solutions, a Nordic government agency has received 5 MX-systems and operator training from American defense contractor L3Harris, a business partner of W5 Solutions.

The systems will be integrated on a flying platform to enhance its intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capability, consequently providing a higher mission success rate. Four additional MX-systems will be delivered and integrated during 2021, reaching a total of nine.

Today’s mission requirements demand identification and designation from long standoff ranges. The L3Harris WESCAM MX-Series products have been engineered to focus on the three factors that drive maximum range: resolution, magnification, and stabilization.

As a result, each WESCAM MX-Series turret has outperformed its major competitor in every performance area, giving the Series the longest EO/IR target identification and designated ranges in the industry (in each class size).

– We are proud to contribute to this vital fleet enhancement and support those who help to protect us, says Paul Tengbom, sales manager at W5 Solutions.

These orders are further proof of the high demand for L3 Harris WESCAM MX-systems and the ability to deliver innovative solutions that meet clients’ requirements – an advanced EO/IR sensor suite that provides crucial day/night imaging capabilities for a broad spectrum range of missions.

Besides mediating the agreement, W5 Solutions also provides integration support.

The transaction was completed in January 2021. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value.
