W5 Solutions receives order for simulator control handles

Riktdon Simulator W5 Solutions

W5 Solutions has received an order from the Swedish Defense Material Administration (FMV) to deliver new simulator control handles.

Within the contract, W5 delivers high fidelity simulator controls, replicating the CV90 commander’s and gunner’s handles. The control handles, equipped with a USB interface, are plug-and-play ready for integration into the Swedish Armed Forces Virtual Battle Space (VBS) simulation environment.
The new sim handles will be used by the units on Gotland.

– As the Swedish Armed Forces are expanding their training efforts, we look forward to, with simulator control handles from W5 Solutions, increasing the training capacity for CV 90 crews. We also look forward to a continued good relationship with W5 Solutions says Anders Jakobsson, simulator manager at the Swedish Land Warfare Centre.

Since the 1950s, W5 Solutions has supplied modular and high-quality simulator hardware – from complete systems and components to integrated main tanks, load trainers, and control handles.

– We add new products to our vast simulator hardware portfolio with this delivery. Furthermore, as in most of our projects, the scope includes not only the product delivery but services like technical documentation, system safety analysis, CE certification, and project management, says Johan Schmitz, business area manager.

The transaction was completed as of June 2021. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms.
