The Swedish icebreaker Oden is currently on expedition in the Arctic as part of the Canada–Sweden Arctic Ocean 2025 research programme. On board, scientists are conducting pioneering studies to better understand the climate, the oceans, and our planet’s future.
Operating in one of the world’s harshest environments requires robust and reliable solutions. To support the mission, Oden is equipped with shelters from W5 Solutions:
- A research centre built from three interconnected 20 foot shelters
- A meteorological station housed in a 10 foot shelter on the bridge deck
These shelters provide scientists with the facilities they need to carry out their work effectively, even in Arctic conditions. We are proud that our technology can play a role in enabling such important research.
Learn more about the expedition via the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat, and discover how W5 Solutions’ shelters are used in demanding environments on our website.
